From 6 to 8 October 2025, the Museumsverein Klostertal hosted an international INHERIT Project training in Wald am Arlberg, Austria. The three-day event brought together partners from across Europe to strengthen skills in heritage promotion, protection, and sustainable management, and to advance the development of the INHERIT Toolkit.

The training focused on the use of new digital technologies for promoting heritage, the development of innovative business models, and the exchange of data and educational methods for experienced heritage professionals. Participants also explored best practice examples from Vorarlberg, including the region’s pioneering hiking trail system, which integrates cultural and natural heritage from the valley floor to the alpine zone.

Through field visits and discussions, the group examined how cultural heritage protection and tourism can complement each other, with the Arlberg Trail serving as a concrete example. The exchange with local tourism stakeholders and the presentation of digital tools offered valuable insights into the role of guides and museums in preserving alpine culture.

For the Museumsverein Klostertal, hosting this event was an inspiring opportunity to share regional expertise, foster international cooperation, and contribute to the sustainable preservation of Europe’s cultural heritage.
