There’s no better way to explore the hidden gems of the Arouca Geopark than by walking its scenic trails. Since 2001, this UNESCO Global Geopark has offered a well-marked network of 14 short-distance walking routes (PR) and one long-distance trail (GR) -designed to showcase the region’s rich natural beauty and cultural heritage.

These trails do more than connect landscapes – they connect you with the land itself. Along 11 of the 14 routes, you’ll have direct access to 18 geological sites (geosites), making them true geotourism trails for those who want to learn, feel, and experience the Earth’s history firsthand.
