SloveniaLiznjek Homestead – A Glimpse into Alpine Farm Life
Built in the late 17th century, Liznjek Homestead is a beautifully preserved example of traditional Slovenian Alpine architecture. With its stone base, wooden balcony (gank), frescoed facade, and black kitchen, it reflects the lifestyle of a wealthy farm family from the Upper Sava Valley.
Inside, original 19th-century furnishings—painted chests, cradles, clocks, tools, and clothing—bring the past to life. The attic and farm building house collections of tools, carts, and equipment once used in daily farm work.
Step inside and experience rural life as it once was, beneath the peaks of the Slovenian Alps.
